VIN correction explanation

A VIN correction return must include a statement explaining the change. The IRS requires it whenever you correct a VIN that was reported incorrectly on a prior return.

Vehicles

Add every taxable heavy vehicle you own that was used during this tax period. Each vehicle needs its VIN, exactly as the title reads, and a weight category.

Bulk upload (CSV / XLS / XLSX)

Have a fleet? Import all your vehicles at once from a spreadsheet. Columns: VIN, Category (a code A–W) or Taxable Gross Weight (lbs), and Logging (Y/N).

This is your e-file fee — it depends on the filing, so the amount shown is exactly what you'll pay at checkout. First-time filings are $4.50 per truck, capped at $18; returning customers pay far less — $1 per truck, capped at $10, to renew — and VIN corrections are free. A person reviews and files every return, and we deliver your stamped Schedule 1. The IRS tax above is separate and paid to the IRS.
